Angry loli’s don’t make very good house guests ;p.

Nothing like coming home after a busy week of school and work, even if it is “underground work.” But to come home and find out that you could be a bodyguard for a loli must be nerve wracking considering everything else you must do. But Shinkuro was up to the task, not only to prove himself to Benika but to himself as well.

Shakugan No Shana II

Shana II

Wow, aren’t I full of Shana goodness? Lol, my two past posts and this one makes three Shana posts in a row, total Shana Moe ;p. Anyways, just watched the first episode of Shakugan No Shana II which is the second season continuing from where Shakugan No Shana left off on. The animation looks pretty much the same, the characters do have a little more maturity on them, but lets be honest here, we all watch Shana for Shana lol. Everyone loves Shana from her cute melon pan eating to her Red Hair and Red Eye’s Flame Haze fighting, and let us not forget “urusai, urusai, urusai” ^^.

Youtube video removed.

The school year is continuing from the break and everyone is converging onto school again. Yuji especially enjoys seeing Shana again after all that they went through after the battle at Seirei-den who has been walked to school by Wilhelmina, to Shana’s annoyance. Everything is going well until the teacher yells at Shana for not bringing in her notebook but Shana replies the teacher is taking away irrelevant parts of the quote that no one would know unless they knew the original quote “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet” (Shakespeare, from his play Romeo and Juliet) . All too familiar to Yuji as other events also repeat themselves like Friagne and the incest twins appearing again when they died. But Yuji also notices that things he doesn’t already know doesn’t occur like trying to find Satou’s house that he doesn’t know the location of, resulting in never finding it and constantly ending up at a dead end or asking his mom what kind of coffee she buys but she responds that Yuji’s father might return soon. Yuji makes the connection that its all a dream and he wakes up after announcing that it was his dream and being sliced by the brother of the twins.

Yuji wakes up in a fuzetsu where Shana is fighting a weak Tomogara. The Tomogara welcomes Yuji back to the real world, for she was the one who put Yuji into the dream state, even though it was only for a few seconds in the real world.

Shana II

The weak Tomogara and Shana fight it out with the end result being Shana slicing the Tomogara in half.

Shana II

After the fight, Yuji and Shana walk to school as Shana enjoys her breakfast of a melon pan.

Shana II

Yuji asks Shana what she said to him as they left Seirei-den (I love you) that catches Shana off guard and leaving her responding that she said that she respected Yuji more but Yuji kept asking resulting in Shana’s “urusai, urusai, urusai” (very cute ^^). At School, Shana meets up with Yoshida and the two stare it out as “Round Two” over the love of Yuji commences (I’m rooting for Shana). As everyone heads to class, we hear the laugh of the weak Tomogara over the school.

Impression:
Sugoi, Shana season II has started. Although I was a bit annoyed that they retold bits of Shana I with different angles, it did lay the background for the new enemy who I assume might attack indirectly in dreams rather than physically. Who knows, but getting killed in a dream might cause you to die in real life, but we can’t prove this for if you die in a dream and as a result in real life then how can you tell someone lol. The new Tomogara looks cute lol, the horns remind me of a succubus though but the gothic lolita clothing is awesome. I’m not a true fan of gothic lolita but I like the designs and details that go into the outfits. Back on topic, we’ll see how this new enemy will involve herself in the story and see old enemies as well. We’ll also might see who wins Yuji’s heart, Shana or Yoshida…I’m for Shana 100% ^^. Watch Shana season two, if you haven’t watch the first season then watch that first. After you watch the first season then watch the movie, or read my review lol.

School Rumble

vlcsnap-73397

Here is the School Rumble review I promised. School Rumble is a high school love and comedy anime that follows mainly Harima Kenji and Tenma Tsukamoto who both have fallen in love although Tenma loves a completely poker faced guy named Karasuma while Haraima has fallen for Tenma.

O it gets better lol, for as the story develops we also have more love interests including Tenma’s younger sister showing feelings for Harima as well as Tenma’s friend, Eri, also falling for Harima. Then you have a guy named Hanai falling for Yakumo and constantly tries to do as much as he can with her which is slightly hard due to all his “imagination” spilling out which Yakumo can see as well other people as well except for Harima. A bunch of love everywhere and comedy abundant. I swear I broke a rib (j/k) laughing from some of the scene’s like Tenma’s and Harima’s practice love confession and Harima’s nude martial arts practice that leads to a “embarrassing” scene.

This is a grade A anime that all should watch and enjoy. I just hope that they make a 3rd term/3rd season of this anime ^-^.

Tenma-chan, she’s very immature and short for her age lol, but a lot of comedy involves her personality.
vlcsnap-81852

Here is Harima, big guy and shaved lol. In the first season he has a beard and mustache, looks better shaved…not the hair area though…watch the anime and you will know what I’m talking about.
vlcsnap-77337
The very cute and mature Yakumo, Tenma’s younger sister. I had such a hard time finding a good picture of her alone lol. She is the cutest out of all of the girls in my opinion
vlcsnap-106311
Karasum, this is the lamest guy ever lol. But he is very random including his “kapa” jacket which is a kappa suit he wears when it rains.
vlcsnap-73942
Hanai, how should I describe him? He’s a great martial artist that should stop pursuing Yakumo…ya thats it lol.
vlcsnap-80660
Suou, Tenma’s bosomy friend who is also a martial artist that goes to the same martial arts school as Hanai
vlcsnap-78481
The rich, popular, and only Caucasian that I know of in the show is Eri-chan , stero-typical rich girl lol. Another friend of Tenma, she easily falls for Harima after all his ummm…”acts” that draw her closer to him, but I rather have a Yakumo and Harima combo. She reminds me of Asuka from Evangalion
vlcsnap-102865
The very cool headed and collected friend of Tenma, Takano…she has a “secret” job
vlcsnap-104263
I thought this was absolutly cute, Tenma and Yakumo are younger and still Yakumo is super mature but younger and chibi looking which is super cute. I’m not a lolita guy ok lol.
vlcsnap-86475
This is a cute chibi pic of Tenma and Yakumo
sr1

This incident should never happen lol, its so hilarious…look where Harima puts Eri’s hand lol. Good thing it got resolved lol.

Youtube video removed.

The “practice” love confession…it will break stitches lol.

Youtube video removed.

Tenma’s “test” of Harima’s worthiness…weird imagination, a bit of cosplay and a hilarious ending.

Manabi Straight-Final Episode (SPOLIER)

Well another end to another anime has come to pass. Manabi Straight was a pretty good anime that is about high school girls that is more of a serious anime about friendship. I really enjoyed the animation in this anime which made me interested in watching it. Well the school year is ending for the girls and they are graduating and going off into the real world.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann also known as “Break-Through Heaven Gurren Lagann,” from now on is known as TTGL, is the newest anime project released by Gainex, the company also known for releasing Furi Kuri, a review on that later.

TTGL is about a kid named Simon who, like everyone human it seems, lives underground for a reason not really clear except for constant earthquakes, which shakes the underground too, maybe its safer underground. He, along with his “older brother” Kamina (Note: In Japan, if you are close to someone who you no blood relations to, like Simon and Kamina, and they are older than you then you can call them older brother/sister) live underground, with Simon preferring it as his villages best digger while Kamina longs to go above the forbidden and sometimes other worldly above ground.

All is nice and dandy after another escape attempt by Kamina that involved Simon when a Ganmen, the enemy to humans, attacks. Ganmen are giant robots, which Gainax seems to live, who are controlled by beastmen, probably called that because they are hairy and walk up on two legs, that seem to like killing humans, who doesn’t in the anime world. While Kamina tries to attack the giant metallic robot with a puny sword, a very voluptuous girl named Yoko pops in who knocks the ganmen down with electric shells from her gigantic rifle.

Simon took Kamina and Yoko to see a robot he found which they used to defeat the ganmen and escape to the very bleak surface world which is a gigantic dry desert. With this victory comes Kamina’s resolve to defeat all the beastmen and drags Simon along who would rather stay underground digging all his life, for it is his passion. Yoko comes along to keep them safe. With their travels they meet all kinds of people and challenges.

I like this anime, it has a bunch of action in it for the man in me, some eroness for my perverted side, comedy for my funny bone, and art for my eyes. I would recommend watching it for it holds quite the interest and suspense that good animes represent.

The only thing that irritates me is the recap in the middle of episode 6 which they really didn’t need. Also the part when Kamina’s ganmen combines with Simon’s, for Simon’s ganmen is the head whose bottom half turns into a drill to combine with Kamina’s ganmen which is the body and the drill passes centimeters from Kamina’s head or actually hits him during combination which should have led to his death numerous times. Also the time which they show the anime in the top left hand corner during the show which isn’t necessary unless its hard to tell the time in Japan to the otakus watching. But other than that I’m pretty much satisfied. I give TTGL a B, needs room for improvement, especially on Kamina’s part, but pretty good.

Here is Simon (the one on the left), looks like a nice kid who would rather dig dirt than fight, actually he is that kind of kid.

The gun-ho Kamina, btw that gun in his hand is the first one he ever used and he almost shot himself using it as a bludgeoning device.

The cute and busty Yoko, who is actually 14 which I do not believe.

In case you were wondering, what that mole thing is above with Simon and below in-between Yoko’s breast, it is a very lucky mole/pig named Boota.

Speaking of Boota, I never really took notice that characters like Boota that wears glasses and takes them off have lips for eyes which Konata mentioned.

Here is the ganmen Simon and Kamina control, known as Gurren Langann, hence the name of the anime.

In between episodes is commercials, to let you know a commercial is coming or going they usually put art of the anime up for a few seconds. I love the art, its a mix of graffitti and anime which coincides with the current episode its in. It shows the good guys before the break and the bad guys after the break. I love how Yoko is depicted in the pic below.

The stupid drill part, which should have actually killed him or at least given him a serious burn from the friction heating the drill as it came across his head.

New Start….Melancholy of Haruhi

I was looking at my past anime reviews and noticed that they are nothing compared to the ones I do now. So I decided to redo all of my past anime reviews that I believe are not up to my current standards. Starting off with Melancholy of Haruhi.

It’s a series that started small and has now grown into almost a cult like phenomenon. Although it is a bit old, finished the television series last year, it has gathered a bunch of “Haruhist” cosplayers from all over Japan and here in the U.S. as well. The plot pretty much follows Haruhi Suzumiya, who is also “God” in a human form but does not know it who can destroy space and time if she feels agitated/bored/angry.

She meets the second leading character, Kyon, in high school who she becomes friends with after an interesting conversation about Haruhi’s hairstyle. Haruhi is an all around “jack of trades” and joined every club to see if it was interesting only to drop it and form her own, called “SOS Brigade”. Here she recruits Yuki Nagato, who is an alien, Mikuru Asahina who is a time traveler, and Itsuki Koizumi who is a psychic which all claim that it was Haruhi’s wish for them to exist and she does not know this, weird.

They go through all kinds of adventures together, including trips in “closed space” where they fight giant crickets and monsters, baseball games, “in-game” space wars, and more. There is even a concert in one of episodes which is one of the best anime concerts I have ever seen.

I recommend people to watch this as it has comedy, action, suspense, and a bit of love everywhere. Become one with the “Haruhist”.

Haruhi here, love the bunny outfit ;p, suits her more than other “bunnies” I know.

Here’s Kyon, which is actually his nickname and has never revealed his real name.

Mikuru in her maid outfit, the episode this was taken from is my favorite. One of Kyon’s friends, Taniguchi, said “futaaaaaaaaaaaaaah” when he saw Mikuru in this outfit which I think is the best line in the whole anime.

Itsuki the pretty boy, you always got to have a pretty boy for the ladies and men…I guess.

Yuki the quiet nerdy one, she is actually pretty cool as she can hack into any system and type probably 60 words a second, a second now not a minute, crazy aliens.

This is Mikuru’s friend, Tsuruya, who I think is the cutest with her hair that almost reaches the floor, cute look, fang, and her speech impediment which gives her the “moe” element ^-^. I like the outfit btw.

Check out the spit and sweat…lovely.

I thought this was one of the cutest moments in the anime, everyone is in a softball tournament and during practice Mikuru is trying to cover herself from being hit by balls and when one taps her she says “Itaidesu” in a high voice which was sooo cute and moe.

Nodame Cantabile

Youtube video removed.

Sorry for the lack of posts, I actually took a full day to recover from Kawaii Kon, the whole weekend just exhausted me…it comes with working and running all around when you are a volunteer. I will post what I bought tomorrow, for now enjoy another anime review. Nodame Cantabile, try saying that three times fast, I can’t even say it once….it comes out like “nodame cometible” when I try to say it from memory.

I really like this anime, its full of comedy, story, and most important of all……drum roll please…dum dum dum…..classical music. I know what you’re thinking….”Classical music…thats for nerds and geeks and its in an anime, my life is ruined” or something to that effect. Honestly thats what I thought too but I got hooked onto this anime from the first episode.

Chiaki is a piano/violin playing genius who goes to a music university in Japan but his true goal in life is to be a conductor. Unfortunately there are no “true” conductors in Japan that he can be taught by and must go to a place like Europe to learn, but it turns out he is afraid of flying after a crash landing he was in and afraid of drowning by boat.

So he stays in Japan trying to figure out life when a girl named Nodame enters his life. She is one of the better pianist he has ever heard if she didn’t make so many mistakes, whats interesting about her is that she can memorize mostly all the notes in a song, even after hearing it just once. If her piano playing doesn’t make her unique then her quirks will as she can’t cook, clean, and makes weird yet funny noises that makes you love her character. She falls in love with Chiaki and tries to become his “wife” which she fails miserably at.

Throughout the anime Chiaki tries to figure out how to live life in Japan and goes with interesting characters from all over during that time.

I personally like this anime as it is an anime that attempts to distinguish itself from others and succeeds at it. The music in this anime is definitely worth listening too, even if you are not a classical music fan. I definitely recommend this to watch and even some episodes watch again and again.

Chiaki being supposedly his handsome self (honestly I don’t get why all the girls like him, except for maybe his talent).

Nodame being her talented self, when she’s not playing on the piano she can be quite flaky.

Nodame’s room before Chiaki cleaned it, she tends to neglect things…..

Take a guess at what this is………….c’mon…….I’ll give you 3 seconds…

it’s a mongoose lol….I thought it was a weird squirrel/beaver thing when I first saw it.

This song really annoys me though as one small part of it is like the United Airlines theme song which I hate after hearing it quite a few times, but didn’t know what it was called.

I love Nodame, she says such random things like below, my favorite being “GYAPON,” I laugh every time I hear it.

Getsumento Heiki Mina

Weird name ya, it actually means Lunar Rabbit Weapon Mina, the anime does actually seem to revolve around rabbits (Usagi in Japanese). This anime was actually pretty good to watch, unfortunately they seemed to have stopped subbing it on the fourth episode which makes me kind of sad because its a pretty good series.

There are actually other series of this show but I have not watched it yet. The plot is about a girl named Mina who transforms into a rabbit-style super hero and along with her bunny-outfit wearing team (so weird but funny) goes out to save the Earth against intruding aliens that are extreme sports enthusiast as Earth seems to be the only planet in the whole universe that has sports, o and the aliens are rabbits. Total rabbit theme.

Well Mina is actually a high school student/sports caster who drinks carrot juice or something that has carrots like the carrot itself or vegetable juice (she hates carrots so it’s ironic she needs it to transform) that reacts with her DNA to manipulate it so that her genes produce super clothes out of no where (the way its done is where the clothes come off and replaced with shininess, afterwards the clothes just pop right on to her, total Sailor Moon copycat), I also noticed that her bust size increases when she transforms, probably as a air cushion when she gets hit in the front (no offense to my female readers and possibly male).

I hope they finish subbing this series as it is one that contains comedy, action, eroness, and possibly a little love. I like the opening theme song, its so peppy. You can at least watch the four subbed episodes in America, watch and enjoy. If you want to see some nice fan art and such you can check this out.

Here’s Mina eating a carrot which you can tell she likes. ^^;

The transformation.

One of the bunny force, Mīna Ohtsuki, fighting a baseball enthusiast alien.

I thought this pic looked pretty cool.

The rabbit aliens.

Mina’s carrot chain-gun which is awsome, the carrot has also been a hammer, handguns, and extender.

Lucky Star-New Hope

I feel I have done a grave injustice. In an earlier post, I did a highly critical review on Lucky Star, episode 1. Well I thought I would give it another chance and after watching it three times I actually liked it better. I understood what was going on and I guess that helped as I was not as bored as before as I watched them talk away about food.
It was kind of interesting actually when I was re-watching it. So much apologies to Lucky Star.

The second episode though was more interesting, especially when the sisters are thinking about what kind of job Konata would get, turns out it was a maid cafe which totally suits her. Can’t wait till next weeks episode.

Where does she work?

A cosplay cafe, Sugoi^o^

I believe this is true.

I love Lucky Channel, the assistant even got a line in the 2nd Lucky Star episode.

Manabi Straight

Youtube video removed.

I am really interested in this anime called Manabi Straight. It’s 2035 and the birth rate in Japan has seriously decreased (I assume this will actually become true with the current birth rate decline) and school spirit isn’t what it used to be at Seioh High School, a private school for girls.

That is until a girl named Manami Amamiya, calls herself Manabi and asks everyone else the same, transfers to the school. She practically joins the school in a bang, on the un-official first school day she ran into the school’s fence for the pool with her flying motorized scooter and on the official first day she crashed into the gym doors to get to the welcoming assembly.

Well the school is in need of a student council president and Manabi herself voluteers and gets the job. Through Manabi, other students who wish to help including Mutsuki, Mei, Momoha, and Mika joins (though Mika actually invited Manabi as she was already student council secretary).

They go through the life of school girls that tries to raise the student body spirit, which they did do as every club practically helped to remodel their dark and shabby council room.

I personally liked this anime, the characters are designed quite well and incorporate all of those Japanese girl characteristics into each character like Manabi is the energetic one, Mutsuki the tomboy, Mei the quite leader-type who is also a great programmer, Momoha the ditz (she’s my favorite ^-^), and Mika the quiet shy girl who just wants everyone to get along.

The girls all seem to me like grade school children when they are actually high schoolers. The technology is pretty awesome in the show, I really like the game station which has its own screen that materializes out of no where. I also like the opening theme song where they graffiti the school, I wish I could do that. I recommend this anime to watch and watch again.

In clock-wise fashion starting from the top left, Mei, Momoha, Mika, Manabi, Mutsuki

If theres one thing I learned from this anime, it’s don’t jump off of bridges as it hurts after you land on the ground.

I did not know this Japanese “custom,” I think I’ll use it next time I’m freaking out over something.

Dodgeball can be a very dangerous sport make sure to “guard” your body (This event was the only perverted thing in the anime so far, but I’m not in it for the girls, I’m in it for the story).

This girl got hit on her “front side” so instead I got a pic of her on the ground. Her face is soooo Moe.

Pay attention while playing sports or this could happen to you.
