K-On is getting quite popular. What does this mean? Otaku craving merchandise from K-On will come about. This includes Mio’s bass. The bass Mio uses is actually based on a real bass according to the blog written by the staff of Japan’s Fender company. Fender makes guitars, bass, amps, accessories and more. So I decided to look it up and actually found it.

In case it’s hard to read the words in the picture, it says:
Introduced in 1960 as a deluxe model, the Jazz Bass® guitar has become one of the most popular instruments in modern musical history. All the Fender® firsts of the original Jazz Bass® are on this accurately detailed reissue, including the offset-waist alder body, ultra-slim fast-action maple neck (“C”-shaped, 7.25” radius), period-correct reverse tuning machines, rosewood fingerboard with 20 vintage-style frets, stacked concentric controls, full-range bi-pole pickups and nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Deluxe hardshell case included. What’s pictured is the black version of the bass but it shows the 3-color sunbursts look on the side of the bass.
The price of it is $2,450.
Mio was right, her bass was quite expensive lol xD. I only see the bass available for right handed people though which is a bit disappointing. I wonder if they’ll make a left handed version if it lots of request are made …
The link for this is here and the link for the website that links to the page where I found the bass is here.
Here’s the comment about the bass made by the staff over here:
いやー「K-ON!」
adios!
Here’s a translation found on the blog.
Wow! “K-ON!” is awesome.
Sakurakou Keionbu looks like hot stuff.
What’s more, the bass player Mio-chan is using quite a vintage jazz bass (the 62 JAZZ BASS), and she’s a lefty as well… it’s so moe.
I predict a break [?].
Adios!
I’ll see if I can find Yui’s guitar when I get news of who makes it and the model of it.
Yui’s guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Standard.
The only bass/guitars and animated equivalents you’ll ever see in mainstream entertainment are:
Fender Jazz, Fender Stratocaster, Fender Telecaster, Gibson LP, Gibson SG
And every drum set is made by Pearl.
PROVE ME WRONG! D:

Deathray: Nice eye. They never mentioned it in the dub what her guitar was, only the Gibson they pulled out of Kanti’s head

Shirukii’s last blog post..K-ON 05; Lazy posting
Mio’s bass is actually a left handed version of this : http://www.amazon.co.jp/Fender-Japan-JB62-3TS-FENDER-JAPAN/dp/B0016LW0R8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1240240887&sr=8-1
Features to note are the three black volume/tone knobs, chrone knob backing, tortoise pick guard, sunburst color, and the two jazz-style pickups. As for left handed… I do not know if Mio’s EXACT bass was ever made. In Japan, I believe left handed instruments would be more popular because more people are left handed there.
yui guitar is Epiphone Les Paul Standard. it looks alot like yui’s .
