Sorry for the long hiatus. School keeps me busy as I try to get the credits I need to graduate.
Btw, to the person who wanted me to show how I edit my figure photography pictures, that will come later. Thank you for waiting.
Off we go to another day at the convention.
Note: I’m going to throw in cosplay pics here and there as I didn’t get to take many photos that day ^^;;.
We got there around 9:30 that day as the booth just needed to be tended once the dealers room opened up. Tomoyo was extremely busy that day as it was the day of the tea party so she had lots to prepare for. As for me, as there wasn’t anything I wanted to attend to, except for my friends concert, the bands name is Eleven Staples, who were playing from 10 am-11 am (I’m glad I got to see it later on videotape ^^), I would watch the front for a while. I would have liked to attend the live art auction as well, but timing didn’t let me do so. A friend of mine snagged a Tidus (main character of FF X) figure signed by Masakazu Morita, as he was the Japanese voice actor for Tidus, which I would have wanted as well lol.
The King ^^

The best Roxas that I saw at the convention.

At 1 pm Tomoyo left to go to the tea party setup and I watched the booth. From opening to early afternoon we had lots of sales. Afterwards it seemed to drop down ^^;;.
This is my friend who’s a pretty cool Majin Boo.

A vendor who’s just Orcing around xD.

Sadly, I could not attend Tomoyo’s tea party as someone needed to watch the booth ^^;;. Though from what I hear, it went pretty well. Although it started a bit later, there was a long line of people trying to attend and some even had to get rejected as the room was filled with people, which is pretty good considering this was the first time the event was held. There was a fashion show, a concert put on by the vocalists of Eleven Staples (very busy day for them ^^;;), a bingo game, prize give aways, sweets, and more. Tomoyo brought a chocolate covered strawberry for me to eat (she ate half of it as the models, such as herself, didn’t have time to eat
) after the fashion show was done. Then she and her friends packed up everything from the show that they brought and cleaned up a bit for the next event in that room.
Tomoyo in her cute lolita dress ^^.

Tobi going up the elevator like a normal person, no space time warp xD.

We stayed open until 7 pm that day which was the closing time for dealers. We left to get ready for the Moonlight Magic Ball: Flights of Fancy formal afterwards. We dressed the same as we did last year but getting ready takes time lol.
Some pretty awesome guys and a girl ^^. Guess which one is the girl.

After I finished getting ready I got a call from the person in charge of the event. Turns out the center pieces were missing and he was calling to find out if I had saw them in the storage room earlier when I went to pick up the manga. I had and mentioned I left them there as they weren’t part of the things I was asked to pick up as it was on the side. I thought it was something they would pick up later, if it was to be picked up, and didn’t know they were the center pieces lol. So I drove down to the storage room, while speeding and running a couple of traffic lights ^^;;, and luckily it was still open until 10 pm that night and drove back in a hurry as well. I got back just in time, about 10 minutes or so before the event was to start, and everyone was placing the center pieces on the table and the favors which we also helped put on the tables. After that it was time to start the event.
Parts of a watch used as decoration on the table to fit the steam punk theme.

The favors. Yep, that’s a train cut out there ^^.

The candle holder in the middle is the favor I went to get ^^;;. That’s an electronic flame in there.

As we dressed in “appropriate attire” in accordance with the steam punk theme, Tomoyo and I were asked to greet people as they came in through the doors, a interesting experience ^^. The funny part about it was we waiting around 5 minutes after the door opened and were wondering, along with the other greeters, as to why no one was coming through lol. It just took some time to get everything organized as there were separate lines for those who pre-paid and those in stand by.
After things got settled down we got to sit down and rest a bit and talked with our friends that were sitting at the same table. There was food (we somehow forgot to take pictures of the food lol), prize give aways, live performances by the karaoke contest winners from prior year cons (one of whom is also the main vocalist for the Eleven Staples band, ganbatte ^^) and dances.
One of the singers of Eleven Staples and the previous years karaoke contest winner.

The view of the room that the ball was held in.

The food consisted of tuna sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches, turkey sandwiches, a variety of fruits and vegetables, dessert, and drink. One of the prizes that were given away was a picture done by Shinji Aramaki which was pretty cool (don’t have a picture of it lol) which a friend got. Tomoyo and I were quite tired and didn’t dance lol. We went to get our pictures taken by professional photographers though I wanted the proof to be sent out to me first before we bought it (I still haven’t recieved that proof through email to this day ^^;;).
After the event was mostly done we took pictures with friends and headed home after the long day.
event/convention is really nice.
but because not many friends in real life that could accompany me to go, I’m kinda reluctant to go.
however, reading the review for any con is nice, even though it must be better to go there in person…
O.O the king dude is scary, why is he in ”Kawaii”con
DX
.-= Fabrice´s last blog ..figma Mio Akiyama: School Uniform ver. =-.
@divinelight: I recommend that you go to see it as there are many things to do and see like panels, maybe a concert, dealer and artist room sales, and more. Plus you can meet friends while you’re there to hang out with as they share the same interest as you. I know how you feel though, before I met people at the kon my friends didn’t go and I didn’t stay long at the first convention because of it.
@Fabrice: Haha, the Burger King mascot is a bit freaky but when you watch him on TV he’s pretty funny. The latest one has him in a “Iron Man” custom built BK suit. The previous one was pretty funny when he stole McDonald’s recipe for a breakfast muffin but made BK’s cheaper.
We have many different types of costumer’s at our convention from people like the King, a couple furries, and Star Wars and Predators like you see in the pictures above. I don’t mind, it’s nice to see what people can come up with. First time seeing the King and a Predator this year ^^.
Majin Boo is such a cutie!! Haha… round and pink in color. w00t
softz´s last [type] ..Alphard of Canaan from GSC – My damaged box
Is that a predator? I hope he’s not hunting the kawaii cosplayers.
Anyways, the con sounds really fun, and it’s nice to see Majin Boo. I don’t think I’ve ever seen his cosplay.
Yi´s last [type] ..A Collection of Personal Thoughts
@softz: Haha, he’s very round and interesting to poke in real life xD.
@Yi: Yep, that’s a predator. Btw, that predator is actually a girl lol, I was quite surprised when she removed her helmet. Yep, don’t see him around anywhere either ^^;;.
After my most recent figure post I’ve realized I need to re-think how I’m lighting my figures again. I thought I had achieved a good balance once I got my light tent, but now…I’m not so sure. I look forward to your post. Also love the cosplay picture choices you made. On the one hand I think it’s neat to dress up as a character, and on the other I wouldn’t want to put in the time/money to make the outfit and THEN have to pose for strangers all day. So for me cosplay is just a spectator sport. I admire the works and efforts of others from blogs.
lovelyduckie´s last [type] ..Alphard (Good Smile Company)
@lovelyduckie: It’s always good to improve when you think you should to a level you feel satisfied with. I’m rather picky when it comes to taking pictures lol, I choose like the top 5-10% of people who I see throughout the convention to take pictures of. I’ve cosplayed once and I know how you feel about it. Though honestly I had no time to pose lol, that year I was running around all day as a volunteer for the different events. I like being a spectator as well to see all the different cosplays there are.
