Did you all see what I saw lol? I saw a girl who not only dressed funny but danced around Akiba and making a fool of herself. Though I can’t say that there aren’t people in Akiba that do weird stuff based on what I’ve seen from past experience lol.
The song is originally based off the song “Turning Japanese” by the Vapors. Below is the original video. Not as weird but still a bit weird nonetheless in certain parts of the video ^^;;.
Kristen Dunst’s song is called Akihabara Majokko Princess. Akihabara’s Magical Princess lol?
First the good. It’s based in Akihabara and it’s a good way to show off, at least in the US, as it is not something people know about in Japan unless they know about anime or need electronics. Second, it’s a redone version of a song I like lol, so it’s sort of catchy. Third, it’s nostalgic watching all the different spots around Akiba, she seems to have gone all over Akiba from the station, Kotobukiya, one of the Lamatra’s, Sega Gigo, and more. Fourth and last, looks like she also has the samurai/maids with her too in certain parts of the music video.
Now the bad. First off, Kristen Dunst, you are not “turning Japanese” lol. Second, I’m not sure if they’re actors but looks like you’re stalking some of those Japanese people, especially that guy in the suit that looks like he was “walking away from you.” Third, this is contradictory, although you are giving good PR for Akiba, at the same time I feel that you aren’t by showing stuff like bare breasts from galge game posters, though she does have a sfw version of this song that doesn’t show that. Fourth, again questioning if they were actors, but some of the Japanese people looked a big “frightened” by you lol, probably because a girl is walking around with bright blue hair and weird outfit.
For those of you who are interested, there is a SFW version of the song. They just cut out the galge game posters from the video to make it sfw lol. Note: Originally I had the video up but it was taken down and I can’t find the sfw version at the moment.
On another note, what’s up with the flower ball guy ^^;;?
Bonus for all you readers. Try to name all the anime/galge references in the video lol. Sort of hard to do but I see some obvious ones.

A lot of those people were probably just ordinary citizens minding their own business. I doubt they’d be able to shut down Akiba just to film this.
As for the posters, I don’t recognize most of them, but the one around 1:25 looks like Fault, illustrated by Tony Taka.

Actually, it’s probably not her idea. It was made by a japanese director for a Tate Modern exhibition. It’s not exactly “Kirsten Dunst” giving bad PR to Akiba.

@Nopy: Ya, no doubt that they wouldn’t shut down Akiba. I wonder how they asked the people that looked directly into the camera if they wanted to be in the video.

If I’m not mistaken, I watched the SFW version, still some galge parts, but they are SFW images.
