Omamori Himari (おまもりひまり), which is translated to “Protective Charm Himari, is about a boy who must fight off demons who are after him for a special attribute about him. But as a currently “normal” human, he has no way to protect himself so he receives protection from a mysterious girl who suddenly appeared before him. Hmm, sort of sounds like a certain flame haze anime I know ^^;;. Read More
Updating everyone about my trip in Japan so far. I walked a lot over the past few days lol, feeling it in the feet xD.
Anyways, I’ve been to Akiba a couple times already and shopped around. I found the stores I’ve been looking for which I visited on a previous trip and glad they were still around. One of the stores was K-Books which is above the Kotobukiya store on the third floor. The reason I was looking for it was because I was looking for a certain Dengeki G’s Festival magazine that I remember them selling a few years back. Unfortunately they didn’t have it or any Dengeki G’s Festival magazine. Although I did find a Kagami pig there xD. Later on i did find the magazine I was looking for in another store.
Another store I tried to find was ASOBIT CITY, which I thought was in the back alley of Akiba and near the train station but I later found it around the corner of the Gigo Sega arcade which I think is one one of the “unofficial” ends of Akihabara. Sadly I didn’t find a good deal at ASOBIT CITY like I did before.
I did play lots of UFO catchers but when you later find what you wanted to win from one of these games for sale elsewhere it makes me somewhat regret that I played as I either didn’t win or “paid” for more than what i could have got it for retail. Need to remind myself to look around and buy first then play if I couldn’t find it for sale.
I also went shopping for Tomoyo at Shinjuku and Harajuku stores. I bought her lolita clothes and a couple of magazines. I tried canned cream corn soup from a vending machine for the first time and it was pretty good, especially for 100 yen; only available when there’s cold weather. I’ll update more in detail when I get back home.
With the new season out comes new animes as well. Let’s start off with Ladies versus Butlers! (れでぃ×ばと!). Initially i only heard about this show from another site and after they did some screen caps of it did I get interested in watching it. The reason that I do watch it is because it seems to have almost all the galge type of girls. It has a tsundere, loli, clumsy, foreign, princess, two personalities, and more. Basically it follows Akiharo Hino, a boy who looks like a delinquent, and his adventures at Hakureiryou high school. Read More
The word of the year for 2009 is….Travel. The reason for it is the amount of traveling that Tomoyo and I did this past year. It’s also shaping out to be this year too lol. I’ll be on a plane in about 7 hours to go to Japan ^^;;. I’ll post while I’m there though. Got a new and lightweight laptop to use when I’m there ^^;;.
What’s nice about where Tomoyo and I live is the amount of culture that we can be exposed to without having to fly everywhere to experience it. One event that I have been going to for the past 4 years is a local Japanese Cultural Festival held one day a year. Tomoyo and I volunteered at the festival this year. Read More
I was blocked out on our last day, so this wasn’t really a Disneyland Day. We did go through Downtown Disney though and I snapped pictures, so there’s still a bit of Disney in this post.
We rented a car through Alamo, at the Downtown Disney location, so we had the opportunity to walk through Downtown Disney early in the morning before it got crowded. I used it to take pictures of the window displays.
As a cel collector, the windows at World of Disney really appealed to me, since they were like sketches springing to life. Except you can’t really tell in my photos. ^^; Looking back on it now, I wish I had taken more closeup pictures.
There’s no early entry on Wednesday, so we used that day to hit Fantasyland first thing in the morning at 9 AM. I wanted pictures with the castle because it was Sleeping Beauty day. ^_^ That and the fact that getting to the castle early meant less people in our pictures. ^^;
As you can see in the following video, NES game cartridges are pretty tough and the chip inside is pretty resilient as well. Even separate coding in the games make one game survive a hole in it while keeping the other alive xD. I think the only thing my game CD’s might survive is the drop and the drop in alcohol ^^;;. Though I don’t want to test that theory out ^^;.
