Loot from Kawaii Kon

Kawaii Kon Loot

I’m really into lolita if you couldn’t guess by my most recent post ;p

I know its been a while since I last posted ^^;;. I’ve been busy with school, work, life (big change in life, a very positive one ^^) and the blog has been last to do, especially with finals coming up. So I’m happy to have time to share pictures of my loot from Kawaii Kon. I think I’m going to buy art and maybe a figure from now on :P . I’m not really interested in pencilboards, dvds, towels, hug pillows (yes, there were hug pillows this year xD), doujin (I bet many of you thought I would buy some ^^;;), etc. I like art, the way you still get to see your favorite character but drawn in a way that makes them distinct but recognizable. Figures are awesome, 3D representations of your favorite characters to admire on your desk or shelf and (click if you dare) hopefully thats it >.<.

Lolita Fashion Show

KK Lolita fashion show 2008

We had something different this year at the convention, a Lolita Fashion Show if you couldn’t tell xD. I thought it went really well and it was great in my opinion. The girls were cute and so were their outfits. I personally don’t know much about lolita even though I really like the dresses:P, so I was a big surprise to me to learn about all the different styles of lolita. Hopefully they come back next year, I really enjoyed it ^^. Read on for a picture intensive post and something nice at the end ^^;.

Cosplay Pics from Kawaii Kon 2008

kk 2008 cosplay

Hey everyone, it’s nice to be back and rested ^^. This year’s Kawaii Kon wiped me out, due to the amount of running around the kon that I did to make sure that it ran smoothly. I believe I woke up at least by 8 in the morning then worked for the kon from 10 am-12 pm :P . Too busy even to take pictures of the cosplayers that attended the kon, so I’m going to take pics from other people and post them here, I will give them credit of course ^^.

Warning: Picture intensive post

AS, where are you?

I’ve been busy at the local anime convention so I haven’t been able to post for a while as you can plainly see XD. But I’ll be back with pictures, later this week as soon as I recover from the tiring weekend ^^;. Until then, enjoy some random youtube videos that I like to watch.

Kicking Zombie Butt with English

Youtube video removed.

Imagine walking down the street on the way home when a crazy zombie starts coming at you with a mallet, what will you do?  Shoot English at it of course xD.  That’s what you do in the new Nintendo DS game “English of the Dead.”  Using your stylus, you write words that you read in Japanese into English on the lower screen the POW, you kicked some zombie butt.

This is a interesting game that’s being sold by Sega lol, what better way to learn something than through a game and I’m not talking about Cooking Mama ^^.  This is a great way for Japanese to learn how to write English words and memorize them as well in my opinion.  You get to play a game where you kill zombies with words, how messed up is that but it’s also pure genius at the same time xD.

Now if they do the reverse and make you read English and you have to write Japanese then they might have a market in English speaking countries, I know I wouldn’t mind getting one ^^.  Would you want to buy one?

The Truth Behind Japanese Women

Youtube video removed.

This was hilarious, but just to let you know it’s a comedy skit (hence the audience laughter in the background). He has that big speech on being the “man of the house” that he mentions to his co-worker, including some slapping movements to show off, then his wife comes in and nicely asks him to have a little talk. Out in the hallway his wife scares him, eventually slaps him around, and then there’s the ending that they show XD. I like how she acts nice and modest in front of the guest and is the tough one behind closed doors. If this was real…lol, scary ^^. Via JapanSugoi.

Mango’s….(drool)

How much are you willing to pay for a mango, maybe a few dollars or so? How about 200,000 yen (about 2000 USD)? Well thats what one person in Japan did, with his winning bid at a auction for two highly prized and hopefully delicious mango’s (known as “Eggs of the sun,” most likely names for the color on the outside and inside I assume) from the southern Miyazaki Prefecture known for their “perfect mango’s.”

AnimeSugoi, Now Comment Friendly

hinagiku

I love Hina and I know many of you do as well ^^, it has nothing to do with the post lol.

I know there are commenter’s out there who needed me to repeatedly moderate your comments which can be quite frustrating. So I am happy to say it shouldn’t happen anymore, well not as much anyways lol. Although it’s not quite proven, I believe that the problem was my spam karma plugin that has many restrictions on who can and can’t comment. Initially it worked out great and all the spam was eaten with no one except new commenter’s possibly needed to be moderated. But it shouldn’t happen anymore, for I’m going to rely on Akismet to protect me from spam. I came to the conclusion that spam karma was the problem because after I deactivated it and used Akismet, R.O.’s latest comment went through without me needing to moderate. So happy days are upon this blog with comments that can go through with no problem, hopefully ^^.

Hooro’s dream come true ^^

It’s almost been a year since I started AnimeSugoi, when I moved from my original blog, Animesugoidesune on blogspot to AnimeBlogger. I would like to thank many people for helping me make it this far. First of all, thank you to M12 the daring, who was the 1000th commenter ^^. Now let us sit back and enjoy the glorification of other bloggers and commenter’s ;p.

More stuff for your learning needs ^^

No, you’re not learning about yaoi lol ;p

Since a lot of you like the attachments for Firefox that I told you about, I thought I would share more with you. Just like the Japanese Rikai-chan, there’s also a Chinese version that translates the kanji into the Chinese translation rather than Japanese.  Here’s a site called Visualizing Japanese Grammar, that is a website designed to help you learn Japanese grammar through visual pictures rather than just words, this should help those who learn better visually. Ever wanted to know about all those Japanese words that frequently pop up in anime? Check out Japanese words of anime fans, by anime fans, for anime fans. I’ll keep you updated when I find more awesome stuff like this ^^.
