Final Fantasy Girls vs Dead or Alive Girls

Youtube video removed.

Nothing like seeing sexy girls fight in a battle to the death, especially if they are girls from video games ;p. We have a fight between girls from Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children, Final Fantasy 8, and Final Fantasy X-2 vs girls from the DOA series.

Watching them fight it out is pretty awesome, battling with moves not seen in the games. The reason, the videos are made by one guy with awesome cg skills that is a fan of the games and probably wanted to see what would happen if the girls fought against each other.

Seeing all of the special attacks from the Final Fantasy girls made me wonder why they couldn’t have that in the games, I would have pwned all of the monsters in the game if they had those skills, especially when I saw Rinoa’s kicka$$ moves ;p. The FF girls are initially pwned in the first video but with Rinoa and Tifa backing them up in the second video, the DOA girls had no hope lol.

Did anyone else think Rinoa’s last move, the one where she cast a spell to have columns of light teleport the FF girls away from the battle field, look like Aizen’s in Bleach when he teleported himself and his comrades away from soul society?

Note: The second video/fight #2 is the latest video of the fight released online. Hope you enjoy the fights and anticipate the next installment in the future ^^.

Loot from Japan…

P3280896

That I bought in San Francisco lol ;p. I was in San Francisco for the past few days which is why there haven’t been any recent posts ^^. But what I bought while I was in San Francisco was imported from Japan so it could be considered something I bought from Japan ^^. I know I would buy the same thing if I was in Japan, just check out my loot from my actual trip to Japan last year. It was pretty cool visiting the sights, but the best part would have to be all the anime stuff that I bought lol. I numbered the items I bought in the picture above so that I could refer to it and show you what was inside the magazines or what it came with. Read on for a picture intensive look at my loot ;p.

Reading kanji through furigana

This is for those who can read hiragana, one of the writing systems in Japan.  I recently came across another Firefox plugin, the furigana injector, which puts hiragana above kanji words, this is called “furigana” in Japan. The plugin is for people who can read hiragana and understand Japanese words but can’t read kanji, this will really help you out on Japanese websites. If you’re learning Japanese then this will help you to speak Japanese more fluidly; by speaking the hiragana you read out loud, it will train your mouth muscles to speak Japanese. Just to let you know, the furigana injector doesn’t translate the kanji into English, so use the rikai-chan plugin for that. Also, there’s a setting to change the “level” of the kanji being translated, for when you read Japanese you tend to get accustomed to certain kanji’s and don’t need furigana to read it, my favorite being (the first character is the kanji, pronounced mi, the second character is hiranga that is pronouced ru, so altogether it is miru, the translation for it is “see/look”) . Enjoy ^^.

For those who want to learn Japanese and own a Mac…

If you have MacOS X 10.5, aka Leopard, you have a Japanese to English and English to Japanese dictionary built into your system. I learned about this through f*%$edgaijin, here are the directions to use the dictionary:

“To activate the dictionaries, go to Dictionary.app and enable them in Preferences. There are 3 Japanese dicts, The Progressive EJ/JE Dict, Daijiten kokugo jiten, and a dictionary of synonyms. I find the EJ/JE dict is sufficient, in fact, it is excellent. Once this dict is enabled, a definition is only one click away. You can select any Japanese word (in a browser window for example) and right-click to get a menu offering “Look Up in Dictionary.” If the selected text is Japanese, it goes right to the definition. You can also select a word, hover the cursor over it and hit command-control-D to get the little popup definition without launching Dictionary.app. You can also look up an English word and click the JE tab, for an E>J lookup.”

Respect your elders

A picture of a yesteryear gone by….

There used to be a time when people would walk down the street and say hello to someone they pass by, whether it be someone they know or some random person. If you do that today, you would probably think the person was crazy for doing that. If a elderly, crippled, or pregnant person were to board a bus or a train you would see people already sitting immediately stand up and offer their seat to the person. Sadly, this is not the world that we live in now. Where people would pretend to sleep, put a newspaper up to their face to not see the person, talk on a cell phone, etc., just to stay in their seat. This seems to be happening all over the world, including Japan. Japan, known for it’s strict code of respect in society seems to be falling apart as years go by and new generations are brought forth.

Spongebob, kami (god) of the undersea world

Youtube video removed.

The title for the video is Deathsponge Notepants, which is a parody on Death Note for those who don’t know ^^. Spongebob being Light (Raito) and the Flying Dutchman (the green ghost) is Ryuk. This clip shows “Spongebob” deciding to be the person who restores order in the world with the “Dutchman’s” death notebook, originally found at Japanprobe. I thought it was pretty funny so I thought I would share it with you ^^.

Spongebob is a popular cartoon here in the US, it centers around a “sponge” (who looks like a dish washing sponge) called Spongebob Squarepants who lives under the sea in a place called Bikini Bottom where many sea creatures live from the maniacal “Plankton” to whales named Pearl. Spongebob is a fry cook for a place called Krusty Krab, where he works with his penny-pinching boss Mr. Krabs and his disgruntled co-worker, Squidward (who looks more like an octopus in my opinion). It’s a comedy show that is a bit childish but it’s actually hilarious at times. Read on for some of the more hilarious moments.

konata-donate.jpg

Konata asks for your support

AnimeBlogger.net has always been supportive of new writers all over the world to establish their blog for free. As we continue to expand and include new bloggers to the anime blogosphere, we have reached a point where advertising dollars are not enough to pay for the hosting services.

Hence, we have decided to appeal for donations to cover the taxes and hosting fees of AnimeBlogger.net. The first goal is to raise US$1600 to cover three months of hosting and the taxes applicable to AnimeBlogger.net. When we have secured that amount, we are looking into adding another server in order to accommodate more writers, which is where the second goal comes in. If we reach our second goal of US$2200, we’ll be able to add another server.

If you are wondering how you can donate to us, there are various ways. First, you can directly donate to the site via Amazon or Paypal from our donations page. Second, you can buy AnimeBlogger.net merchandise. As an incentive to those who donate, everyone who donates more than $5 will be entered to win a prize. Currently we have a sponsor that’s paying for two AnimeBlogger.net shirts for winners. You can also contribute any anime-related items as prizes for the lucky draw.

AnimeBlogger.net needs your help. Everyone is integral to the support of AnimeBlogger.net. Every little bit counts to hit our target, be it $1 or $100. You will make a difference. Thank you and please continue to explore our anime blogging community!

This will help to keep this blog and many other animeblogger blogs up for you to enjoy, thank you for your donations ^^.

Figure collecting and you

Flame Haze Shana

Shana demands you to tell her why you like her, is that a turn-on for you ^^;?

There is something that’s been on my mind when I look at my figures, “Why do I buy them?” ^^. I wonder if those in the figure collecting community or others that have an interest in figures themselves would like to give their own answer to that question. There are many reasons why I’m a collector but I would like to know why others collect them. Is it because of the detail on a figure? A anime character made 3D? A decoration (which is much more interesting than a vase lol ;p) for the home?
