Happy New Years to everyone, you were all so…SUGOI ^^. I know I’m posting this a bit early, its the 30th where I am, but it’s the 31st for other parts of the world lol. So I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year before January 1st, 2008. The Shana above was drawn by a friend of mine and I added all of the other stuff, he’s so talented lol; envy flows from me for his artistic skills ;p. You will notice that Shana has rat ears and a tail, this is in celebration of the Chinese zodiac; for 2008 is the year of the rat. The year once again belongs to the rat, after 12 long years the cycle has once again restarted; I hope all of you born in the year of the rat will have a great year. Of course I also hope everyone else will have a great new year as well lol, I’m a dragon.. Happy New Years to all, as we welcome 2008 which is the year of the rat.
What is everyone going to do on New Year’s eve? I’m planning to pop fireworks with my family lol, then head back inside and play some video games ^^.

Ahhhh Christmas, the time to give your fellow man/woman joy through presents lol. But what would a teenager want to receive for a Christmas present? How about a phone book? The Wii was a very popular gift this season, I even got one myself to give to my dad for his birthday that’s near Christmas, and is quite the gift to give to anyone this season. Drinking tea during class? How daring and awesome of you lol.
I would say that my favorite character for the 2007 Fall anime lineup would have to be Kirino from Bamboo Blade. Her energetic ways and positive attitude towards life is what drew me into her, plus her cat face smiled is very cute :3. Being proud of her position as captain, Kirino goes out into the world with as much leadership as possible including the episode, episode 11, where I got the following pictures from, as she took it upon herself to look for the 5th girl for their team, Azuma. I have recently installed a new plugin called math spam protection that allows only those who answer the math question to comment. I was wondering if this plugin was placed properly on the site, the spam protector should be below the “Leave a reply” line and above the name you register on the site. There is a space where you can answer the question on the left and a math problem on the right. I tried the plugin myself by logging out of my admin account and testing it, the result is I could leave a comment, the test comment is seen in the comment section of this post. Please try to leave a comment, if you can, as it will confirm that the plugin works.Obviously if it doesn’t work you can’t leave a comment telling me it doesn’t work lol. I hope everyone will have a Merry Christmas, even if it is just a day to give thanks to someone. Give thanks or at least a “Merry Christmas” to those who helped you, family, friends, or maybe that neighbor you never talk to but says “hi” to you every morning before you leave. In Japan, Christmas is basically a way to say thanks to those who helped you during the year, especially your senpais. So everyone still goes to work, which is good I think as they spend a ton of money on Christmas gifts. I too spent much this Christmas. For I was able to buy one of the most wanted and least available Christmas gifts around, I believe some of you know what I am talking about. I will tell you the story of this “rare” acquisition that might give you a bit of a laugh when you read it lol ^^.

This is a anime Christmas tree that my brothers homeroom made. Anime has a nice following where I live but I would say most of the population wouldn’t know about anime or would refer to it as cartoons lol. I hope all of you are having a wonderful break from school, I know I am ^^, and hope the rest of you are having a great time so far. Christmas is almost coming and it is a time to be nice and responsible. I say responsible for there have been a few accidents and fatalities on the roads where I live due to drunk driving. So if you are going to drink during the holidays, please don’t drive as it will affect all of those around you if something were to happen to you.

Art is a wonderful thing, as the saying goes “A picture is worth a thousand words.” So how many words do you get from an anime show about art? Whatever it is I bet it’s more than a thousands, we’ll see as I talk about it lol. For those of you who wish, count how many words generated in this post and we will see if it beats 1000. For I will talk about Hidamari Sketch, a slice of life anime thrown together with comedy, chibi, and a bit of cuteness that is not overbearing. I had somehow missed this anime, I missed it by a long shot too lol, as the final show actually aired. So for those of you who don’t watch animes until they finish showing every episode, give this a look and it might be one that you enjoy watching.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but there tends to be lots of cats (Neko in Japanese) in Japanese anime. These cats usually aren’t the main focus but they just seem to fit into the anime and usually comedic when they show up. They just bring in that charm that usually results in cuteness we just can’t resist. Some even consider the cats to be the reason that they continue watching certain animes, which is quite an amazing feat considering that they aren’t even the main characters. We will take a look at some of these cats and their amazing power to draw people in.

“WOOT” ^^, what an amazing word that is lol. This is not officially the word of the year but it is for Merriam-Webster online as it was the most frequently looked up word in their database. For those of you who play games with friends, played online, or have gaming friends then you probably know what this word means, I do from all the online gaming and the game battles with my friends while we munched on pizza lol. Basically its a form of expressing joy which could come from something that just happened, like beating your friend in a game or grabbing the last slice of pizza before anyone else. But saying WOOT itself is pretty fun, take a deep breath now and yell out “WOOOOOOOOT,” it feels so good lol; best do it when you are at home and not in a crowded library lol. The origin of WOOT is not clear, but it could be an acronym for We Owned the Other Team which is in reference to beating another team quite severely.

The word of the year for Japan is “Fraud/Imitation.” This was announced when a famous Buddhist priest of the Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto wrote the Chinese Character or Kanji as it is known in Japan for onlookers to see.
The word “Fraud” “WOOT” all of the other words that could have been the word of the year for Japan (there I used WOOT in a sentence lol, makes sense now doesn’t it?). Fraud was chosen due to all the fraudulent scandals this year in Japan including Social Security payment records suddenly missing which means thousands won’t get social security that they have partially paid into in the past, McDonald’s selling day old salad as “Fresh” which lead to complaints of sickness after ingesting the “fresh” salad, and Japan’s Deputy Defense Minister Yoko Yamada demand for “perks” in exchange for goverment contracts.

This is totally unrelated but I thought it was kawaii lol. Click here to hear Misao from Lucky Star whenever you press certain keys on your keyboard. My favorite button is from the Christmas version Misao keyboard which on the bottom right hand corner on the right of “OK” and below “yaru” for those who can read Japanese as it has Misao laughing lol. Scroll further down and you can find a download link which is a link that opens up to the Misao keyboard you see above that can play music along with hearing Misao’s cute and hilarious lines from Lucky Star. Fang Power FTW ^^. Now that I think about it, the word of the year for AnimeSugoi is…… “Fang,” in tribute to my favorite Lucky Star character and favorite character of the year, Misao ^^. Seeing how profitable Blanc’s photo book was, over one million sold ^^, the gravure idol company I worked for decided another book of her should be made. So I called Blanc, I have her number ;p, and told her the good news. Blanc was excited but she said that she was too busy with her current gravure lifestyle, thanks to the photo book, with non-stop videos, photo shoots, etc that she wouldn’t have much time to take much photos. I was stunned by this, as I would have to face my boss and tell them the bad news, I was about to hang up when Blanc gave me another stunner. She tells me her friend, Ryuna, is available but a bit shy; she even tells me that she’s sexy and giggles afterwards. I ask her to give me Ryuna’s number so I can contact her. Once I received the number I proceeded to call Ryuna, I was pressing the number pad so fast on my cell phone that I feared I might break it as I tried to reach her.
