As if Japan doesn’t have enough vending machines, different vending machines are coming out from no where, such as this ramen vending machine.

I only got to watch this and thought it was a awesome song. Though NSFW for certain parts lol.
Another installment of Youtube Videos of Interest.
First off, robots. I don’t think we’re anywhere near the level in Chobits but hey, we’re taking it a little at a time.
The HRP-4 is designed as a working robot and at a small sum of 305,000 USD, how could you pass it up? It can stand on one foot, twist its waist, strike poses, follow spoken commands, recognize faces, and track objects by moving its head. Its five-fingered hands are also more dexterous than those of its predecessors.
It’s time for Youtube Video of Interest. Let’s see what we have to share today.
First off is a new type of vending machine located inside the JR Shinagawa Station in Tokyo. It’s a drink vending machine, like the thousands of others in land of vending machines known as Japan, but this one has a touch screen surface and it likes to judge you as you pass by lol.
“Rather than use a tradition pushbutton system, the machines use a 47-inch touch panel display with several distinct automatic modes, the company stated
When a customer nears the machine, only images of the available drinks will be displayed. The machines come equipped with sensors that can recognize age and sex with a 75% accuracy, and make recommendations based on the situation, Nikkei reported. Customers can also zoom in on a particular selection to get more detailed product information if desired.
When people are not in its near vicinity, the machine switches to an advertising mode that will display imagery based on factors such as season, time of day, and temperature. In one instance, the machine popped up a big set of eyes, along with words that read “I’m thirsty!”
Ever wonder how they built that huge cannon that Black Rock Shooter uses that was displayed at Wonderfest this year? Now your questions can be answered with this video. Complete with a catchy tune to go along with it as well.
Everyone gets old and sometimes need a little help retirement home but what do you do when your dog gets old and needs a little help getting around. Just like their Japanese owners, dogs in Japan are living longer and they’re not the spry pup they used to be. As such, a doggy rehabilitation center was made. They give your dog massages, special walking devices to help ease the pain of walking, diapers in case of a lack bowel control, and even classes to teach you how to take care of your elderly dog.
Once again, here is another “Youtube Videos of Interest” segment. This time we will focus on Spring time snacks in Japan, techy graveyards, samurai’s and coffee, and Tommy Lee Jones and coffee.
First up, we have Spring time snacks in Japan.

This is pretty awesome. I watched Moyashimon the anime and they are currently making a drama version of it. Based on the characters, the small clip, and the CG of the microbes it looks like it will be a pretty good drama. I can’t wait until its release in July 2010.

This was a interesting to watch. Apparently Steve Parry visited Beijing and is assumed to be Michel Phelps, the American who won 8 gold medals in swimming competitions during the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. What’s interesting is Steve actually competed against Phelps in the 200 meter butterfly race in the 2004 Olympics in Athens. Steve left with a bronze medal that day being defeated by Michael Phelps and Takashi Yamamoto.
The title for the video is Deathsponge Notepants, which is a parody on Death Note for those who don’t know ^^. Spongebob being Light (Raito) and the Flying Dutchman (the green ghost) is Ryuk. This clip shows “Spongebob” deciding to be the person who restores order in the world with the “Dutchman’s” death notebook, originally found at Japanprobe. I thought it was pretty funny so I thought I would share it with you ^^.
