My love of reading vs watching

I think I turned over to a new phase in my life…either that or I am just getting used to a existing adjustment.

Nothing too big but I think I prefer to read manga than watch manga.

Although it’s not “big,” I do have a huge amount of hard drive space (on my external) with anime in it. Though to be honest it’s mostly anime I have already watched but I believe the portion of “anime to watch” will be growing more and more with time.  Read more...

Fanime 2008 swag

I like the neck strap, it was very comfortable xD

Although I was only at Fanime for one day, actually 5 hours and 2 of those hours were spent in lines to get into the convention ^^;;, I was able to enjoy the dealers room and artist alley where I managed to acquire some swag. There were lots of dealers and artists, you can take a look at the rooms here. The dealers room looked like it consisted mostly of figure sellers that took half the room (they were spread out throughout the whole room), lolita clothing/clothing took 1/4 of the room, and the other 1/4 consisted of people selling Japanese snacks, bags, games, manga, cells, etc. Read on to see all the swag I bought.  Read more...

Kawaii Kon Loot

I’m really into lolita if you couldn’t guess by my most recent post ;p

I know its been a while since I last posted ^^;;. I’ve been busy with school, work, life (big change in life, a very positive one ^^) and the blog has been last to do, especially with finals coming up. So I’m happy to have time to share pictures of my loot from Kawaii Kon. I think I’m going to buy art and maybe a figure from now on :P . I’m not really interested in pencilboards, dvds, towels, hug pillows (yes, there were hug pillows this year xD), doujin (I bet many of you thought I would buy some ^^;;), etc. I like art, the way you still get to see your favorite character but drawn in a way that makes them distinct but recognizable. Figures are awesome, 3D representations of your favorite characters to admire on your desk or shelf and (click if you dare) hopefully thats it >.<.  Read more...

Cute anime girls drawn under 2 minutes

Ok, so technically it wasn’t done in under two minutes but it was pretty cool to watch lol. Amazing that someone can draw like that with just a computer, although that’s how most anime’s are made today. No going back to the yesteryear of hand drawn pictures. I wish I could do either one, that would be really cool. Currently I can draw a anime character, usually a girl ;p, but I always have problems with the face lol, the way I make it always makes the character look “flat” with no life to it. I have photoshop CS2, the software used in the video is Corel Painter, so I might try making a anime character like the video. Originally found at JapanSugoi. Mirai, May the force be with her

Mirai, known throughout the otaku world as Danny Choo’s mascot character, has cosplayed in the form of a cute school girl to a sexy idol ;p. But never before as one who “wields the force,” as seen in the picture above, for she is cosplaying as the Dark Lord, Darth Vadar from Star Wars. This was sent in to me from frequent commenter, D_Blade, who shows that he not only knows his anime but also has the ability to draw, which I am seriously lacking lol. Thanks to D_Blade for sending this in, may the force (whether it be good or dark side lol) be with you.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008

Happy New Years to everyone, you were all so…SUGOI ^^. I know I’m posting this a bit early, its the 30th where I am, but it’s the 31st for other parts of the world lol. So I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year before January 1st, 2008. The Shana above was drawn by a friend of mine and I added all of the other stuff, he’s so talented lol; envy flows from me for his artistic skills ;p. You will notice that Shana has rat ears and a tail, this is in celebration of the Chinese zodiac; for 2008 is the year of the rat. The year once again belongs to the rat, after 12 long years the cycle has once again restarted; I hope all of you born in the year of the rat will have a great year. Of course I also hope everyone else will have a great new year as well lol, I’m a dragon.. Happy New Years to all, as we welcome 2008 which is the year of the rat.

Swag

The dealers at Kawaii Kon are cool. They bring us stuff we would normally never find. I wish there was more though as I could have depleted more of my money. But I did buy stuff along with my brother and I will show you it now.

Check out all the little figures, especially the voodoo dolls on the front. Very cute and they bring good luck rather than bad.

Uchikoma in the house. Sadly the Tachikoma was taken before it could be bought.

The Tifa (Advent Children Version) pic a artist made that I picked up. Very sweet.

Cosplay….Cosplay…..COSPLAY!!!

WOOOOOT. Kawaii Kon has been over for a week now and I will miss it until next year but until then here are some cosplayers that came over during the Kon and I will present you with some of their pictures.

There were a ton of cosplayers this year, unfortunately I could not capture many due to work for the Kon. More next year.

L and Light hanging around, I actually saw a few of these duo’s around. Next year it will be Near, Light, and L.
