Day 5 – Shop ’til You Drop!
We started the day off fairly early at 8:00 AM. We were awake early enough that I had time for a loot pic.

Around 10 AM, we walked from Fairfield Inn all the way to Enterprise on Katella Avenue to pick up our rental car. It took awhile since the car they were giving us had no gas in it so we had to wait until they filled it up. When we finally got the car, we took it back to the hotel and checked out of Fairfield Inn. Then we dropped AS’s brother off at his dorm and finally on our way.
Day 3 was another slow, slow day, but I had not planned for it to be that slow.
We were greeted by long lines from both parks even though it was a weekday morning and the early crowds should’ve gone in already. Apparently the computer system was down! Which meant slow moving lines to get inside. I really thought I had written down the wrong opening time at first.
We split up at that point. AS’s brother and I went to get FP for Screamin’, not realizing that when the computer system is down, it also means no fastpass! Ugh, what a horrible thing to discover after walking all the way there.
Makes me a little happy that I went to order food =P
AS went to order us breakfast at White Water Snacks in the Grand Californian. We had never eaten breakfast at White Water Snacks, so we thought we’d give it a try this trip.
American Breakfast – with eggs, smoked bacon, red bliss potatoes and toast

I know it’s now old news, but I wanted to express my excitement for it regardless…
*squeal*
Oh boy =P
We wound up waking up a little later than planned. At the time AS’ uncle dropped us off at the Fairfield Inn, we were actually supposed to be meeting my friends by the entrance of Disneyland. Oops.
Our room was ready so we dropped our stuff off first then rushed over to the parks. This is our first time staying at Fairfield Inn and it’s pretty nice. The walk isn’t as bad as I expected.
Seems much farther on google maps xD.
Half of our group was there with us that morning, the other half had gone to a My Little Pony event last night and weren’t coming until later since they didn’t get home until late.
AS went to get Space Mountain fastpasses for everyone and we walked down Main Street to the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe, taking a detour into Candy Palace first. Both places were under renovation when we were there in November so I was eager to get a glimpse of both. Everyone was a little hungry, so we stopped for breakfast at the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe.
Of course, I HAD to get the Mickey-Shaped Chocolate Tart. I’ve been reading reviews since the day they opened and had the list of must-eat’s prepared. Yum!

Saturday, May 5
We arrived in LA at 5:00 AM. The flight got in a little early, which we actually didn’t want since we didn’t want to wake up AS’ family who were picking us up! Luckily, his aunt had actually woken up early that day and we made our way to the pick up area and waited maybe 20 minutes before she got there and took us to her house.
I conked out right after we got there. I can never sleep on planes. AS woke me up around 9:00 AM so we could get going on our food crawl. His aunt and a cousin elected to join us.
Last year, a restaurant that specialized in steamed soup dumplings (aka xiao long bao or xlb for short) opened in our area, but they were expensive and I didn’t really have another restaurant to compare it to, so I really wanted to try it while we were in LA since restaurants that serve xlb are so plentiful in comparison. XLB crawls are quite popular, so it was easy to research which restaurants were the best.

It’s been a busy, busy 2012 so far. Despite our best intentions to go back to blogging regularly, it just never happened. Oops. ^^;

Today is Tomoyo’s Birthday ^^.
I always found it interesting that her birthday is the day before Valentine’s Day. Which means I have to work twice as hard lol.
Here’s to Tomoyo.

I know we haven’t been as active as we were before but we’re still around xD.
We at Chibified wish a happy holiday to you and your loved ones.
Also hope to post more come next year ^^.
What have I been up to? Nothing, really. Once you’re out of school, it seems like life is nothing but work, eat, sleep and occasionally seeing friends.
I am prepping for our next trip. I know it seems like we go on a lot of trips, but it’s not really true. xD The last trip I went on was in January. It’s more AS, than me, this year.
Anyhow, so we’re going to Disneyland. Yes, again. xD But this time, instead of Halloween, we’re going to see the park decorated for Christmas! We’re also going to Pacific Media Expo (PMX), a small con in LA. They always seem to have a lolita fashion guest of honor, and this year is no exception. ^_^
