Life – What are we up to?

Our posting has slowed a bit because we’ve both been spending our free time being engrossed in other things.

First off, no, we aren’t traveling or have traveled somewhere in the last month.

We’re at home, not in Japan xD

Masaharu Morimoto

Recently, Iron Chef Morimoto was in town. He had a few public appearances, among them, book signings for his cookbook, Morimoto: The New Art of Japanese Cooking. AS and I both enjoy the original and current Iron Chef shows on the Food Network, so we decided to go. Originally we had only heard about one book signing in an area where parking was pretty bad, but luckily, the night before, I found out he was going to be at a mall that had better parking and was also closer to us. We couldn’t not go after that. xD

The day the world became flat

The other day I was hit by an avalanche. But this wasn’t a ordinary avalanche, it was a avalanche consisting of boxes ^^;;. The boxes I’m referring to was my figure boxes that have accumulated at the top of my closet for years now that decided they had enough of their unusual stacking and came tumbling down on top of me. Until a few years back, I still had them at the top of closet but it was a quiet and serene place up there as each box was nicely stacked on top of each other. Then the collection grew and I started having to play tetris with the boxes, fitting them anywhere that had space. Finally, that mountain of figure boxes couldn’t take it anymore and decided to come falling down on me.

Narita Airport, my home for a day

Japan is a pretty awesome place. I’m sure many of you feel the same way about it. But there are a few things about Japan that will make you think “uguu~.” For me, I haven’t found such a thing on all my trips to Japan except this past trip. You may find it funny but for me it was Narita Airport.

Japan Trip January 2010 Part 5

This was my last day in Japan and since the zoo was closed the day before I decided to spend my last day at the zoo as I haven’t been to many zoos in my life and I like animals. I hope you like pictures of animals lol.

What I didn’t expect to find that day was something white scattered all over Tokyo.

Note: Picture intensive post.

Japan Trip January 2010 Part 2

It’s always interesting to wake up in another country. Though it’s always hard to adjust to the country’s time when there is more than 4 hours of difference lol. I had a hard time sleeping the night before but when I woke up I was pretty refreshed and wanted to start my first full day in Japan. Though I know most places that I want to go to don’t open until 9 or 10 at the earliest so I occupy my time by going online or watching TV. Watching Japanese television is usually a hit or a miss for me, depends if there’s something that interests me is on like news or weather for the day. Though it’s always interesting to see the late night showings. As I was hungry I decided to stop by the konbini down the street.

Japan Trip January 2010 Part 1

This past end of January and early February I decided to go on a trip to trip to Japan by myself.  This is the first time I’ve traveled international by myself but as I have had previous experience traveling and getting around Japan, I wasn’t worried. I wanted to have the freedom to just do whatever I wanted in Japan and do whatever came to mind that day as I had no real set plans which is hard to do when you’re with other people. This was going to be quite the journey for me with new experiences and twists and turns that come with being in Japan.
